The Classic is the custom leather fire helmet shield that started it all, and it's still the one most firefighters choose. I've handcrafted hundreds of these personalized firefighter helmet shields for departments across the country.
Each Classic is built from two layers of premium 9-ounce vegetable-tanned bridle leather, the same weight used in saddles and heavy-duty work belts. The rockers are precision laser-cut from the top layer, revealing the second layer beneath where your department name, rank, and badge number are laser etched and hand painted. Every edge is machine stitched on my Cobra Class 3 and finished by hand.

Every shield is handcrafted to order: designed, laser cut from 9oz bridle leather, hand tooled, laser etched, hand painted, machine stitched on a Cobra Class 3, and edge finished before shipping.
We use premium 9-ounce vegetable-tanned bridle leather sourced from American retailers. This is the same weight of leather used in saddles and heavy-duty belts: thick, dense, and built to withstand the demands of the fireground. It's naturally heat and water resistant and holds its shape when wet.
