Every band is cut and stitched by hand from a single piece of premium vegetable-tanned leather, then sized to your exact helmet measurement. There's no Velcro, no buckle, no bungee. The band is fully stitched closed and slides over your helmet dome the way a wedding ring slides on a finger — clean fit, no slop. How do I measure my helmet for a band?

Wrap a flexible cloth or tape measure around your helmet at the bottom edge of the dome, just above the brim — that's where the band sits. Pull it snug but not tight. Round to the nearest inch and order that size. Most modern fire helmets fall between 27" and 31". The product page has a measurement photo for reference.
Will the band fit my helmet brand?

We size by inches, not by brand, so it fits any helmet you can measure. We've shipped bands for Cairns 1010/1044/N6A, MSA Cairns XF1, Phoenix TL-2, Bullard, Honeywell Morning Pride, and Pacific. As long as you measure correctly, it'll fit.
How does it stay on?

It's a closed loop sized to your helmet. The band slides over the dome from the top and seats against the brim. The friction of the leather against the helmet shell holds it in place — no Velcro, no buckle, no clip. If you size it correctly it stays put through hose pulls, ladder work, and overhaul.
How many characters can I fit on the band?

Up to 25 characters including spaces. That's enough for most names and ranks (e.g. "CAPT WILLIAMS", "E-7 SMITH", "KCKFD STATION 4"). If you need more text, message us before ordering.
How long does it take to ship?
